From the Darkness of Ignorance to the Light of Knowledge.

Shree Ram Welfare Society School in Andheri West has, in the process of inspiring teachers, parents and especially students., created a landmark in yhus premier suburb of Mumbai.

A 53 ft high wall mural that is 30 feet across draws immediate attention to the school even to passers-by on the main stretch of this leafy by-lane. Conceived and executed by Artist Murali Raman and his team from The Terribly Tiny StudyO, this visual metaphor has a simple story to relate.

The layered narratives here - the kids determinedly climbing up the wall of a huge notebook and pulling down the page to reveal the brilliant light of knowledge is parallel to the dark, confused, ignorant, state of mind giving way to a glorious dawn in a radiant sky...and the brilliant sun dispels all fears, imparts knowledge and gives confidence.

The role of parents and teachers is also shown.

The treatment is a stylized ode to this artist's  favourite legendary master - Vincent Van Gogh.

You have become the reason for my being
So, before you do,
I ask myself - Am I always looking outside to find my inside?

No, the answer is crystal clear to me.
I am full. I am complete.
And I find resonance with so much outside 
that I become that.
And you become this.
It's something that will always happen. It's natural.
As normal as the sky above, the earth and the seas below.

I recognize that fire
that impatience
I admire that
I reminisce about it too.

I know the thirst, the eagerness, 
the innocence. the vulnerability.
I've been it all.
I know too, that it can be quenched.
The quest is within.
It manifests without.
But it finds the treasure within.

I feel the peace
I miss it
And I envy it too.
But I know I can reach it again.
It's a constant endeavor.
Like the Myth of Sisyphus
But in a brighter vein. 
For its a pleasure, this journey of self-discovery.

I see the amalgam of the irritation
and the infinite peace.
I see the synthesis and the silence.
And I know its natural
The two cannot but be together.
Nothing is wrong, it's already right.
It's a dynamic equilibrium.
Without one, the other is not.

I know that I have you.
And you know that you have me.
We are one.
Ostensibly separate, yet connected.
Apparently disparate. But in unison.
In every fibre of our consciousness.

There is so much inside me
It's never-ending.

It does not need completion. 
It is sufficient. It is enough.
But it's also all-encompassing.
It needs new horizons. New boundaries.
To discover the joys within anew.

In the mind's eye.
I'm grateful for the Grace
that I have allowed myself
By not barring possibilities.
